Upcoming Projects

The new Executives have pledged to increase awareness of Sangam and its activities, and to do more advocacy work, and enhance current advisory services.

Many new projects are planned for the upcoming year, including :

- The construction of a new Temple and Hall

- The purchase of a Mini-bus for transporting of Elderly members to functions and events

- Sangam Awards Dinner, to honour people who have made a significant contribution to Sangam

- Hosting of the bi-annual Sangam World Cup (which includes sports teams and participants from NZ, Fiji, Australia, USA and Canada)

- Updating of the website at

Sri Subramani Swami  Temple, Sangam Village

The Sangam purchased a property in 2003 at 723 Great South Rd, Papatoetoe, Auckland, New Zealand.

Last year a fire destroyed the Hall and Temple located at this address.  Presently, a small temple, temporary office, and Drop-in Centre is in operation.

Building plans for a new Hall/Office and Temple have been completed, and construction is scheduled to begin soon.

Trust Chairman, Mr M. K. Pillay said, “My dream of helping build a temple for Sangam in NZ is finally being fulfilled and I would like to thank all those members, devotees, donors and supporters for their continual assistance, and in particular to Pandit Sunil Sharda”.

The complex, known as the ‘Sangam Village’, will also house the Sangam Head Office, a Sangam Seva Service Centre, Community Garden and Library.

It was only through the assistance and generous donations of members and supporters that the land and building was purchased and loans paid off.

The T.I.S.I (NZ) Sangam would like to request for help and support from interested people that would like to join the Construction Committee to help build the new Temple.  Names can be forwarded to and/or the Trust Secretary Nikhil Naidu can be contacted on 021-2559955.
